This article is based on two high school girls who were caught posting obscene pictures of themselves on their own MySpace pages. One of their "friend" saw these pictures and printed them out and gave them to the principal of their high school. These girls were good athletes who were suspended from any extra curricular activities for the year. Not only did the two girls suffer but so did their team mates who were counting on them to be on the team.
This article in my opinion is a good example of what high school girls are scene as in today's society. Being seen as posting "slutty" pictures of themselves in their eyes is seen as cool and will get the young boys attention. Its also good to see that the schools are taking action about these pictures and making these girls "mascots" as a way of punishment and to hopefully stop most of these pictures getting posted on the internet for everyone to see.
2.) (2006, August) Drug and Alcohol Policy. Park; learn to think. Retrieved November 29, 2009 from http://www.parkschool.net/academics/index.cfm?type=list&objectid=320
This article is based on the polices that Park School sees as their polices for drugs and alcohol on school grounds. It first discusses the policy and rationale and the consequences the student may face. Also it then states the purpose and intent of disciplinary and Guidance actions, and finally it makes an outline of the components of the action plan and also how its works and how to abide by it. This policy page is very broad and also may answer any questions students or parents may have about this specific subject.
This is a great article for students and parents who are part of the Park School and who also may have questions about the drug and alcohol policy at their school. It goes over everything, such as; what the policy is, how to abide by it, what happens if the students does not abide by it, and also the consequence that student can face dealing with school and also extra curricular activities. Its a strict website but also gets the point across of what the school expects.

This article is about a young boy from Eden Prairie, Minnesota who decided to voice his opinion on Facebook suspensions through a walk out. Although Nick Laurent was not in any of these pictures that were given to the principal, he still thinks the punishment does not fit the crime. Nick argument is based upon the fact that the party where these pictures were taking were not on school grounds therefore they did not violate the policy. He also states how the punishment, suspension, does not fit the crime and is also to intense. Most of the students from this school do in fact follow Laurent and join in on his walk out to protest Facebook suspensions. Their voices do get heard.
This article could be a good opinion article of how the boy views the punishments and what he thinks should be done. I give the boy a lot of credit for going out, planning this, and doing it. Although he was not a part of these pictures he decided to help out his fellow classmates and i would give this boy a lot of respect. It also opens the eyes to these administrators and made them think of the punishments they in fact give the students and it maybe it is too harsh.
This article is about a young girl who is now in college and decides she is going to sue the principal of her high school for her previous suspension due to an incident relating to Facebook. The incident was about her posting a page bashing a former teacher over the internet. The teacher came across it and gave it to the principal an she was quickly suspended. She is now fighting back and suing the principal for claiming her first amendments rights were violated. The law suit is still in progress and will hopefully have a decision soon.
This article is a good article because this woman is now fighting back for what she believes is right even though it happened a couple years ago. It also shows that some of the punishments these schools are giving the students may in fact not fit the crime. On a side note it also shows how crazy these websites are getting and the troubles it is causing for not only the students, but the administrators as well.

This article from the Educational Leadership is based on how Facebook and MySpace has become the place for cyber bullying. Many people are starting to see the issue with these pages and how it can really hurt peoples feelings, and also lead to suspensions in schools. Also ending of friendships and relationships as well due to the rumors it can spread. There is also mixed feelings about it, alot of people feel because of the first ammendment that people should have the right to say what they want to the public, others think its wrong and violating.
This article was most likely my favorite because it saw both sides of the issue and aloud people to express how they feel and also what they think is right. In my opinion i think these pages have became out of control way to quickley and that something should be done about it. Although people have a right to speak freely i think it should be done in a different way and not posted all over the internet.
